Custom Orders
Radical Electronics has the capability to design and build power audio amplifiers to meet your particular application. Some of the applications of a custom design can be in products such as powered speaker systems, audio equipment, or multimedia systems.
Overview
In most applications a power amplifier has 2 stages of conversion. The first stage of conversion is used to generate the DC voltage supplies for the amplifier and the second stage is used to generate the AC output.
Radical Electronics has a number of reference designs that can be used to speed the development of power amplifiers to meet your particular requirements.
Some of the output topologies include:
- Full bridge D class output (200W+/channel)
- Half bridge D class output (100W+/channel)
- Analog topologies (up to 50W/channel)
Some of the input topologies include:
- Flyback up to 75W (from 12V input)
- Full bridge up to 150W (at 12V input, higher wattages at higher voltages)
- Resonant full bridge up to 300W+ (at +12V)
- 120/240VAC input supplies (planned but not yet developed)
Protection circuitry
Protection circuitry can be designed into the amplifier depending on the application. Some of the available protection circuits are:
- Overcurrent on output topology (current limits output)
- Overcurrent on input topology (power limits output)
- Unbalanced detection (a ground fault detector for bridged output designs)
- Input overvoltage protection
- Input undervoltage
- Thermal Shutdown (in development)
Other useful features that can be added are:
- Battery chargers
- Voltage outputs for driving other circuits
